This Talavera-style mini flower pot has a round rim and sides that taper towards the base. Its bright green glaze is hand-painted with a stylised flower and leaf design in sky blue, dark blue, dark green and yellow, outlined in black, and the inside is glazed white.
It is made in the art form native to the region of Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico, by artisans trained in Talavera pottery. Two types of clay from the Puebla region are mixed, strained and kneaded, then shaped on a wheel or in a mould; every step of painting and glazing is done by hand.
A drainage hole in the bottom and the durable material make it suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
