Our Story
From workshop hands
to your home.
Hand-painted ceramics, leather goods and hand-woven textiles from independent artisans and small businesses in Mexico — delivered from the UK.
The shape of it
—
Artesano de México brings handmade pieces from Mexico’s craft regions to homes in the UK and beyond.
Most of our ceramics — kitchenware, flower pots, tiles, house numbers and wall décor — come from Dolores Hidalgo in Guanajuato, a town known for its hand-painted Talavera-style pottery. Our vases are made in Guadalajara, and our leather goods come from León, Mexico’s leather capital. Our wool pillowcases and rugs are hand-woven in Oaxaca, and our tablecloths, woven belts, camera straps and dog collars and leads are made by traditionally trained crafters in Chiapas. We buy from independent artisans and small businesses, and we are proud to support these traditions by bringing their work to the UK.
Every piece is made by hand, so no two are exactly alike. If your plate has a wobble in a painted line or your wallet’s leather is darker on one side than the other, that’s not a flaw — that’s the mark of the person who made it. We pack every order with care for safe transport and send it with our UK couriers, Yodel and DPD.
We have also had a shop on Etsy since 2024, where you can read what our customers say.
