Bring colour to the table with this multicoloured Talavera-style dipping set. Its seven pieces — a central round bowl, five interconnecting tapered sections and a large serving dish — can be arranged as one platter or used separately.
Bold flowers and swirls in orange, yellow, green, red and light blue are painted on a deep blue ground. Every piece is painted and glazed by hand by traditionally trained artisans, and the set comes from local traders in the Dolores Hidalgo region of Mexico, so each set differs slightly in colour and pattern.
It suits appetisers, crisps, dips and snacks for parties, and makes a thoughtful housewarming or wedding present. Hand wash only in soapy water — it is not dishwasher safe.
