Dolores Hidalgo Ceramics · Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato

Most of the colourful ceramics we carry — kitchenware, flower pots, wall décor and house numbers — come from Dolores Hidalgo in Guanajuato, a town known for its hand-painted pottery, tiles and house-number plaques. Every piece is painted by hand, so no two are exactly alike.

Product details

This Talavera-style espresso cup comes with a matching saucer, both hand-painted in cobalt blue and white. The cup carries a blue lattice with dots, the saucer a mix of lattice and leaf motifs in two shades of blue, and the inside of the cup is glazed white.

It is shaped, painted and glazed by traditionally trained artisans in Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico, and sourced from an independently run business. As each piece is finished by hand, its shape, colour and pattern may differ slightly from those shown.

It holds 0.08 L, just right for the first espresso of the morning, and makes a lovely housewarming or wedding gift. Hand wash only.
