Rich colours, an orange and sky blue trim and a floral design decorate this large Talavera-style Champanera flower pot, with every step of the painting and glazing done by hand.
Artisans trained in traditional Talavera pottery make it from a mix of two clays from the Puebla region, strained and kneaded before being shaped on a wheel or in a mould. The pot comes from a small business in the region of Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico.
It has a drainage hole in the base and is durable enough for indoor and outdoor use, in any room or in the garden.
